🚨 Emergency Newsletter: Don't Miss Our Next Nairobi Meetup!🚨

Plus: 14 Remote Jobs (not just in content)

First, a warm fuzzy welcome to our 120 new subscribers. Thanks for joining our little community. And if one of your friends shared this email, feel free to subscribe!

I’m adding a last-minute extra email to our schedule, because we’re hosting our next Nairobi meetup in 2 weeks, and we don’t want our Kenyan friends to miss it.

Then, I quickly scoured the internet and found a whole bunch of remote jobs and freelance gigs hiring in Africa. Huzzah!

If you’re in a rush, and just want to join the meetup, register here.

Nairobians, Save The Date: June 6th We’re Meeting Up!

As some of you know, earlier this year, we hosted two small get togethers for online business folks in Kenya. We had a very diverse group at both events, a mix of business owners, freelancers, consultants, startup teams, and content creators.

So, now, we’re making this a regular thing.

We all know working online can be lonely and boring. But most networking events are weird and awkward. This is not a networking event – it’s simply a nice evening with like-minded folk who get the struggles you face as an online business owner or remote worker in Africa.

We won’t have a venue until we know how many people are joining us, but the meetup will be in a nice bar or restaurant, so you can get some drinks and dinner.

Also, it’s on a Tuesday – so you probably don’t have any better plans!

Why are we charging an entrance fee?

While the previous two events were free, we’re charging a small entrance fee for this one: 700 Ksh.

I’m not organising this event, as I’m currently in South Africa, so it’s a bit far to fly back for one evening. 😉

Instead, my good friend and seasoned event host Ashlie Olouch will be taking care of logistics and making sure you have a fantastic evening.

It takes Aslie roughly 20 hours to organise a meetup, wrangle all the attendees, co-ordinate with the venue, keep you engaged and entertained all evening, and follow up with you after attending. Also, we’re a small operation, so no venue will give us space for 20+ people without paying a hefty deposit.

700 ksh covers Ashlie’s time, materials, and the venue.

I’m sure you’ll agree it’s a worthwhile investment once you’ve spent the evening with our community. If not, you can ask for a refund. 🙂
